My first attempt at an action strip. This came from some ideas I had after reading a book on early Christian thinkers and their interactions with Jewish thinkers of the time. The period was an interesting time in Israel, with Jewish zealots fighting the Romans (although usually unsuccessfully). My ultimate goal with End of the Age was to compress the three major Jewish rebellions into a single lifetime, give the characters slightly more outrageous abilities (what can I say, I'll always hold superheroes close to my heart, although costumes don't necessarily need to apply) and set it in a world that's aching for change. As always, my ambition outstripped my ability, and I couldn't wrestle the strip into any sort of coherent state. So what I've got are these four prologue pages (the hero is actually the bitchy kid who is left behind, not the beefy bruiser). I think the key to this sort of project is immersing myself in research first, and drawing second. But I suck at research.
